I've been trying to prepare for my qualifying exam (scheduled for March), but I have been finding plenty of distractions:

• I am expecting a new niece. My sister is due any day now!
• Because of said new niece, I have been taking on some crafting/sewing projects, including a crocheted ripple blanket and a receiving blanket (but now I'm thinking I'll probably make something else with the fabric)
• The mail piles up on the counters at my house and since I don't have many things to do, I decided this was a good time to sew a hanging mail organizer.
• After months of mostly being ignored, I discovered several of my orchids need to be repotted.
• I finally tore out the remnants of my summer garden, which means I probably need to plan my next garden!
• I've decided that I like to drink black tea. I feel a tea tasting hobby coming on.
  
• And most obviously, I've decided I need to revive my blog.
